About the School
Dean's Welcome
From the Dean
On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, I would like to welcome you to the Case School of Engineering. As you browse our Web site or tour our campus, I believe you will find our institution to be truly unique. An internationally renowned provider of world-class engineering education and research for more than 125 years, Case is well-positioned for an even brighter future.
Our robust research enterprise includes distinctive and acclaimed programs in advanced materials (including fuel cells), biomedical engineering, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and engineering and computational fundamentals. Our research benefits greatly from partnerships with premiere institutions in our own backyard, including the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals of Cleveland and NASA Glenn Research Center.
In addition to top-notch classroom instruction, we pride ourselves on offering unparalleled experiential learning opportunities for all our students. Nearly half of all undergraduate students participate in our award-winning co-op program and many more undergraduate and graduate students alike are active partners on faculty research projects.
Of all we have to offer, our people are by far the most vital resource: Our more than 100 full-time faculty members are dedicated educators as well as leaders in their fields, and our students are among the brightest and most driven in the nation.
But don't take my word for it. Please visit us soon and see for yourself.
Sincerely,
Norman Tien
