Minimum requirements
- 36 credits of course work beyond what is required for the B.S. degree (including 6 credits of "depth" course work in a basic science and 12 credits of "breadth" course work outside the student's area of study)
- Achievement of a passing grade on the Ph.D. qualifying examination
- Completion and defense of an 18-credit comprehensive research dissertation
- Minimum grade point average of 3.0 in all graduate-level work
