ALCOA AMBASSADOR VISITS CAMPUS

November 29, 2006

Greg Williams visiting the Case School of Engineering

CLEVELAND - Greg Williams, director of metallurgy and quality systems at Alcoa, the Case Alcoa ambassador and a double Case alum, visited the Case School of Engineering on November 29, 2006.

During his visit to Case, Williams spent time with two recipients of support from the Alcoa Foundation: Brain Taylor and Edward Hunter in Professor Roger Quinn's Biologically Inspired Robotics Laboratory.

Case's Office of Engineering Student Programs (OESP) coordinates the funding from the Alcoa Foundation. For three years, OESP coordinated a pre-college program for students from the Cleveland Public Schools to introduce them to higher education and college life. Funding currently also supports the Binary (3+2) Program and research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Williams received his Bachelor of Science in metallurgy in 1972 from the Case Institute of Technology (the precursor to the Case School of Engineering) and his MBA in 1978 from Case's Weatherhead School of Management.
