CSE CELEBRATES MORE THAN USUAL AT E-WEEK BANQUET
February 27, 2007

CLEVELAND - The Engineers Week Banquet is always a time of celebration for the Case School of Engineering. This year there was a little more than usual to celebrate as Dean Norman Tien announced two new gifts to the school, totaling nearly $400,000:
- $270,000 from Medtronic to support fellowships in the Department of Biomedical Engineering
- $125,000 from Don Richards, a double Case alum and managing director for applications outsourcing at Accenture, to support students in Case's Master of Engineering and Management program
Minneapolis-based Medtronic is a longtime Case partner. The company sponsored the Case Engineering Festival and was a primary sponsor of the 2007 Midwest Biomedical Engineering Conference, both of which were hosted at Case in conjunction with E-Week.
Richards, who received a BS in mathematics and an MBA from Case, also served as master of ceremonies for the banquet. Accenture sponsored the banquet.
